Fish
I have had fish tanks for a long time.  I began with Amazonian and Saltwater fish, but
got tired of fighting the battle of keeping the right water conditions.  Finally it dawned
on me that the water that comes out of the Topeka system has a pH of about 9 or 9.5,
and that is just ideal for the Chiclids from Lakes Tanganyiak and Malawi in Africa.
Remove the chlorine, boost the hardness a touch, and they are right at home.

So, I now have 3 tanks.

The 55g has only two fish.  My Frontosa, which I got when it was about thumbnail size,
is now quite large.  Also in there is another Synodontus which I have had for 15 years.
I rarely see him, but he just keeps going and going.

Here's the Frontosa:

The 75g is downstairs and is the showiest tank.  It has Lamprologus Brichardi, and
Julidochromis Marlieri.  Both species breed actively, and they get along well together.

Here's the 75g tank:

I have a tall 30g tank that has a non-African,  a Leporinus that was with me for a long time.

Here's my Leporinus.  Sadly, he died in November, 2005 after 12 years with me.
