Royal Doulton is an English
porcelain company as famous for making Beatrix Potter
figurines as it is for its line of dishes. However, Royal
Doulton has also created other mice over the
years.

George Tinworth was an early
major influence in the Royal Doulton world in the late
1800's and early 1900's. He did a wide range of mice figures
in all sorts of scenes. The two pieces pictured above were
modelled in the mid 1880's and are considered very rare and
collectible. They are stoneware. They were originally
intended to be used as menu or flower
holders.

Beswick is a branch of Royal
Doutlon and is known for reproducing the Beatrix Potter
figurines. To the left is a mouse from the Kitty MacBride
series called "A Good Read." The book title (remember I'm a
librarian) is "Batmouse Flies Again."
