On November 28th, 2001 (The day after our anniversary) Gary Lezak and Elizabeth Alex of KSHB News, pulled Robin's postcard from a selection of postcards for the month of November.
Robin won a New Toshiba Laptop Computer from Roadrunner High Speed Internet !!
Robin and the Family went to KSHB to receive her prize on Tuesday December 4th, 2001. Gary Lezak taped a short segment of Robin receiving her laptop that was played on December 20th during the 10pm broadcast.
Gary Lezak met us and gave us a great tour of the actual studio where they produce the news everyday. He also gave each of us an autographed picture of him, Windy and Stormy. Too bad Windy and Stormy were not there too.
Gary showed us how he does the weather in front of a green screen, and how he has to look at monitors to see what pictures and images are being displayed so he can point to the correct city, temp, or location for his broadcast. He makes it seem easy, but you can ask Dawn and Robin who took a turn....
It is not as easy as Gary makes it look.
Dec 4th is was 70 degrees on the plaza so after our KSHB tour, we walked the Plaza and finished up with a nice dinner.
