Mitchell & Janice Cotrone

Mitchell Cotrone was born in Chicago and raised on a farm in Wisconsin. After his conversion at the age of five, he enjoyed reading stories about missionaries, and while a student in college, God called him to overseas missionary service. Mitchell earned a B.A. degree in Bible and a minor in missions from Vennard College in Iowa. For 17 years, he pastored and pioneered Wesleyan churches in Iowa and Minnesota. For 22 years, Mitchell served The Wesleyan Church in Colombia, South America, in many capacities including missions director, professor, and church planter.

Janice Cooper was born and raised in Virginia to a family where missions planed an important part of family life. She was saved at a Christian Youth Crusaders camp at the age of nine and went on two summer missions trips to Haiti while in high school. She earned a B.S. degree in nursing and a M.S. degree in community health nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. Janice nursed for six years before being appointed as a Wesleyan missionary nurse to Haiti where she served for 10 years. Her responsibilities included director of nursing, hospital administrator, teacher, accountant, bookkeeper, and hostess.

Mitchell and Janice were married in July 1996, and pastored for one year in Virginia before accepting appointment to missionary service in Haiti. Their goal is to serve the Lord by assisting the national church leadership by coordinating the Theological Education by Extension program and children’s churches ministries.
