From the Ring Masters:

Welcome to the Barracuda Web Ring, online since 1997!   This page has useful news and other information regarding our ring.

Our Web ring is dedicated to Plymouth's legendary Barracuda.   On our ring members' sites, accessible via the links above, you too can enjoy the first pony car, from its beginnings to becoming the ultimate muscle car that we love to restore, modify, drive, race, show, or just admire sitting there in our garages.

If you have a Cuda Web site and are not a current member of the ring, please submit it by using the 'Join' link above in our Web Ring logo, or the link below.  IT'S FREE!  And it increases traffic to your site.

The ring has been hosted by RingSurf since January 2001; before that we were at webring.org.   When Yahoo took over webring.org in September 2000, we tried to work with their new system, but in the end, we moved.   RingSurf isn't likely to change, and the Barracuda Webring has settled comfortably into its new home.   We are back to being a simple, individual/volunteer-run operation without fear of a hostile corporate takeover.   This ring, the original Plymouth Barracuda Webring, is as strong and popular as ever!

In the time we've been on RingSurf's system we're their second most popular automotive Web ring, and we've been in the overall Top 50 (53 last checked).   This is against Pokemon, Digimon,"erotic," and Computer Geek webrings!   We can only attribute this to our focused membership and the quality of the sites on this ring. And it probably doesn't hurt that the HemiCuda is one of our own!

In the summer of 2006, a new Ring Master, Brian (site ID = 3), assumed management of the ring. His immediate goals are to restore the Ring's main pages, fix broken links in the ring, and then to encourage others to join. If you surf across interesting, non-commercial Barracuda or 'Cuda Web sites and find that they aren't members, or are running the pre-2001 webring.org code, please copy and e-mail to the Ring Master the sites' URLs (web addresses from the locator bar at the top of your browser). He'll then visit the site and try to contact the site owner.

For anyone running an older version of our webring code, please download the most current version from the Join pages.   With all the improvements that have taken place over time, the code has been refined and the links updated.   If your HTML ring code isn't correct, it can break the ring and hurt the other members' sites. Test your code by, for example, using the 'next' link, then using that site's 'previous' link to see if the ring returns you to your site. If it doesn't, you likely need to replace your Ring code and possibly to apply for a new site ID number -- see the 'join' section of this home page.

Be sure to download the ring's three graphics files (cudaback.gif, cudamid.gif, and cudanext.gif; just right-click on the images with your mouse and choose 'save image as') then upload them to your Web site's directory (where you have your Cuda Web page). Also modify the ring's code on your page with your URL for the downloaded graphics. This reduces the load on others' servers, and improves the speed and reliability of each site.

While you are at it, please log on to RingSurf and make sure your information, especially your e-mail address, is current. You can also upload an 'avatar' (a small, personalized picture) that will be displayed whenever anyone lists our ring's sites. For an example, scroll down the list to see mine. When logging on, the 'Ring ID' is 'cuda', and the 'Site ID' is the ID number in your ring code. If you've misplaced your password, use the provided RingSurf link to have it e-mailed to you (if that doesn't work, e-mail the Ring Master).

Keep visiting this page for news regarding your favorite Web ring!
